Perthshire Paperweights was founded in 1968
in the town of Crieff, Scotland by Stuart
Drysdale, who described himself as a "country
lawyer." He employed some experienced
glassworkers but also trained local young men and
women. He took delight in referring to Perthshire
Paperweights as 'The Antiques of Tomorrow.' All
Perthshire Paperweights are signed with one
exception. Does anyone know the answer?
Stuart Drysdale died in 1990 and his son,
Neil, also a lawyer, took over as Director of
Perthshire Paperweights. The factory was closed
in January of 2002 after Neil Drysdale's untimely
death in 2001.
