South Jersey

Red, blue and turquoise over white are the colors in this beautiful example of an Umbrella Inkwell & Matching Stopper from South Jersey. The glass is clear except for a few tiny wayward bubbles which is to be expected in this type of item. The pontil mark has been smoothed over but is still obvious. This paperweight inkwell was probably made in one of the factories in South Jersey between 1880 and 1910. A definite attribution is not possible.
